Exact Metrology recently released the Hexagon RS6 laser scanner, designed for high-speed and accuracy scanning. It scans up to 1.2 million points/sec with a scan rate of 300 Hz. The RS6 also has a wider laser stripe of 150 mm at mid-range and a visual guide that provides real time feedback for stand-off distance.

From October 11, 2019 to April 26, 2020, the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration in New York exhibited “Sisters in Liberty: From Florence, Italy to New York, New York.” The exhibit was a collaboration between Kent State University in Kent, Ohio and the Opera di Santa Croce, a nonprofit organization in charge of the Franciscan Cathedral Santa Croce.

Greenery 33 is a company in Cincinnati, Ohio that produces creative and unique plant holders and pots. The company donates 33% of their earnings to environmental protection agencies. One of Exact’s engineers is friendly with Greenery 33’s owner, so Exact Metrology participated in a marketing campaign aimed to show the process of reverse engineering and how it can used with various materials.

Exact Metrology now offers the RS-SQUARED area scanner. Manufactured by Hexagon Metrology and re-sold by Exact Metrology, this 3D scanner is compatible with all current generation Absolute Arm 7-axis systems. The RS-SQUARED allows users to perform high-speed scans of simple shapes and surfaces. It is best suited to the scanning of large parts with lower detail requirements, such as automotive parts.
