Zeiss X-Ray Based Scanners / Metrotomography

Metrotomography is the result of combining metrology and tomography. Based on the principle of x-ray technology, Metrotomography enables measurements in areas that previously could only be inspected with major restrictions – the interior of highly complex components.

The METROTOM 1500 and METROTOM 800 CT-Based Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) from Carl Zeiss generate a visualized point cloud from a number of two dimensional x-ray pictures. With the created virtual object, a number of tasks can be completed including:

  • Performing a virtual cross-through the object in 2D or 3D
  • Automatically or manually detecting defects and air bubbles
  • Separating materials with different densities
  • Exporting data for further processing in CAD / CAE software

Carl Zeiss METROTOM 1500

The METROTOM 1500 is the ideal CT-based coordinate measuring machine for a wide variety of applications in terms of part size and material density.

Carl Zeiss METROTOM 800

The METROTOM 800 is tailored to the requirements of the injection molding industry. It meets all the requirements of mid-sized companies in the plastic, composite material and ceramic part industry. It also features an attractive price/performance ratio.
